Depending on who you ask Tree House Brewing Company is considered one of the top five or ten breweries in the country, which is great for those of us who live nearby and love beer. If you love big juicy IPAs or flavorful coffee porters this is your place.
Let me start by saying that we love their beers but waiting hours for beer is just a non-starter. Before they expanded, you would need to get out there early, wait more than an hour (sometimes multiple hours) to buy a couple of cases of beer (hopefully they don’t run out of the kind you like). Since they’ve expanded in 2017 the setup is a bit better, you can now get some beer to drink there (or while waiting in line). They’re less likely to run out of their beers and you take in some live music or sample visiting food trucks. Everyone we’ve talked has said their visit is OK but is it really worth the wait?
Like everything else, COVID has put an end to visits to the brewery. However, Treehouse has made their beers available via “Treehouse on Fly” and we jumped at the chance. The process is fairly straight forward, the online ordering opens at 9:30 am and is open until they sell out or 5:30 pm. You must purchase at least a case and pick it up that day. Hours vary by day so to be sure to check out the FAQs.
Depending on the day and time you arrive, you’ll wait in a line of cars to pick up your order. Just before you make it to the front of the queue, show your ID and order number to a crew member who radios ahead. As you pull up, they confirm your order number and drop off your order at your bumper. Put on your mask, jump out of your car, pop your purchase(s) in the trunk and you’re off. The whole experience was quick and well organized. If you’re within reasonable driving distance I would highly recommend making the trip.
Expert tip make sure you review the offerings the day before you’re planning to order as offering change by the day. Below is a sampling of the bounty that we took home to give you an idea of the beers on offer. As always follow us on Untappd, Twitter, Instagram, Vivino and Distiller because its always more fun with friends!
Stay in good spirits!
